It’s All About Improving Water Quality

Wetlands play a critical role in water quality, flood control and biological diversity. They absorb nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous out of the water while also reducing flooding by holding water during major rain events. Equally important, wetlands provide habitat for thousands of plants and animals.

The Toussaint River Watershed Conservancy serves as an environmental steward to
balance these variables through the restoration and management of the acreage throughout this watershed.
